This vehicle specific auxiliary light kit utilizes a waterproof Baja Designs LED light (red, for reduced eye strain and fewer bugs!), that is mounted to the wiper motor cover on the rear window to illuminate the area surrounding your Jeep’s tailgate area. The included plug-n-play AEV wiring harness is designed to take all the guess work out of wiring, for a trouble-free installation.

- Does this light kit replace my existing OEM cargo light?
No, the Tailgate Auxiliary Light is intended to provide light outside the vehicle when the rear glass is up and operates independently from the interior cargo light.
- Why red light? Why not white like the rest of the interior lighting?
Anyone who has spent any time camping knows how irresistible a nice, bright light is to bugs at night. Additionally, red light is far less attractive to insects and is also much easier on your eyes.
- How difficult is the wiring for this light kit?
We tried to eliminate all the guesswork by providing a custom-made wiring harness that is essentially plug-n-play, without the need to hardwire anything.
- What kind of output does this light have?
The Baja Designs light used in this kit features a 5.5 watt, single LED with an output of 400 lumens and a 180 degree beam pattern.
