The AEV Steering Damper Relocation Kit moves your steering damper above your tie rod, getting it completely out of harms way when out on the trail! This kit is an easy, bolt-on solution for protecting your Jeep’s steering damper from damage.
This relocation kit includes all necessary hardware and will bolt-on to JL Wrangler or JT Gladiator models equipped with a factory front differential housing and features an anodized finish to give it superior corrosion protection from the elements.
– Due to axle and tie rod variation vehicle to vehicle, some installations of AEV’s Steering Damper Relocation Kit may experience light contact between the damper and tie rod at full lock steering. This is normal and does not affect the functionality or performance of the steering damper.
– Mono-Tube Steering Damper required. Highly recommend using with AEV Steering Damper.
– Compatible with Tie Rod Tube Diameter 1-1/2″ – 1-9/16″
Key Features:
- Moves the Jeep’s steering damper from the stock OE position to up above the tie rod. The new position will help protect the damper from being damaged while driving over rough terrain.
- The new position keeps the steering damper level to the tie rod, providing smooth and stable steering.
- Compatible only with mono-tube steering dampers. It is highly recommend to pair this relocation kit with the AEV Steering Damper.
- Features a CNC machined aluminum clamp that secures the steering damper to the tie rod. It has an anodized finish to give it superior corrosion protection while bearing the elements underneath the vehicle.
- Replaces track bar bolt with AEV-provided double ended stud for attachment to axle.

- Why would I need to relocate my steering damper?
The stock position of the steering damper is below the tie rod and axle tube and has the potential to be hit and damaged while traversing rough terrain while off-roading. By moving the damper position to above the tie rod, it will drastically reduce the odds of it from being struck by anything that you may be driving over.
