The WJ was AEV's first look into building up the Grand Cherokee. With its Prowler Yellow paint and 34" tires, it was a visual knockout. This vehicle debuted in Moab in 2000 and was also shown at the 2000 SEMA show.

This was a tough one. The suspension just didn't want to cooperate. We started with an off-the-shelf lift that just wasn't all it was cracked up to be. We added a lot of time and reworked the steering (and front end) a bunch to get to a decent vehicle.
I enjoyed the 4.7 V8 in this vehicle and it performed very well off-road but I was a little disappointed in its on-road manners. I always hoped we could have tuned it to be more like today's WK version of the Grand Cherokee (2005+). -dh
