AEV Long Wheel Base (TJ) - 112" Stretch
AEV was founded on building long wheelbase Jeep Wranglers. The Wrangler 112 (112" Wheelbase) was our first conversion vehicle, and it brought us our first Chrysler Design Excellence Award. The 112 came standard with four Recaro seats, ARB Airlockers, Bullbar, and a host of other off-road components similar to today's Rubicon.

From the Designer
We had a lot of fun building the 112s. We were just getting AEV up and running...the phones weren't ringing, there really weren't any serious deadlines and at 5:00 we could go kayaking. Somehow it was a lot easier then.
I remember coming home from SEMA with our first Chrysler Design Excellence Award, five orders for vehicles, and only $500 left in my checking account. I was left wondering, "How in the heck am I going to build all these cars?" Somehow we made it work then and have been "making it work" ever since. -dh
