Engine Choice

AEV gives you three engine choices for your new Jeep depending on your intended use and budget. The 3.8L six cylinder works well for general use, although it can be a bit lacking on heavy four door Wranglers with large tires. If your plans include a four door Wrangler with 37-inch tires, set up for expedition use or trailer towing, the 5.7L HEMI V8 is the best option. The 5.7L V8 provides ample power (345 HP / 375 Torque) and can actually provide better mileage on lifted vehicles than the smaller 3.8L engine. If your plans include playing in the sand or racing in the desert, where you are at high RPMs most of the time, the 6.1L V8 is for you (425 HP / 425 Torque). NOTE: V8 Conversions are built per order and are currently not certified for on-road use in some states, please check with your AEV salesperson for details.
